Pixels Experience!

I’ve owned two Pixels so far – the original Pixel 1 and the Pixel 6a – and both have been fantastic phones in their own ways. What I’ve always loved about them is how handy and perfectly one-hand-usable they are.

The Pixel 1 still has my heart. Its metallic body, clean design language, and that superb camera paired with unlimited photo storage made it a classic. But my journey with it wasn’t all smooth. About a year in, the microphone gave up. Google repaired it, but it was a paid repair. Later, after the final Android 9 update, the dreaded boot looping issue appeared. Google’s solution was to replace the motherboard, which would cost me nearly half the phone’s price. I refused. Even today, it struggles – taking hours to restart – yet I still keep it alive as my dedicated photo uploader.

That issue never discouraged me from picking up another Pixel. When the 6a came out, its camera quality alone convinced me. I still use it as my secondary daily driver. People talk about battery concerns with the 6a, but so far I’ve been fine. Except for heating once or twice during updates, it’s been smooth sailing.

For me, Pixels have always been about the experience – the cameras, the simplicity, and that unique Google touch – even if the hardware quirks sometimes test my patience. You could even find out that many of my Instagram clicks are taken on Pixel phones. And now, I’m already looking forward to upgrading next year with a brand-new Pixel to continue this journey.
